Our Spring Vacation!

We are finally home after a whole week away from home! The week off could not have come at a better time. We loved every second of our vacation!

Our vacation began on Monday when we drove over to Seagrove. We stayed at "The Bungalow" until Friday morning. It was the perfect size and a great location on 30-A! We spent hours everyday on the beach and ate out every night for dinner! Here are some pics of our week at the beach!

We rode bikes to Seaside one afternoon, and Wesley got to swim in the Seaside lap pool. He has missed getting to swim laps since we have left Auburn.

This is Nick and Joy! We were so excited to get to spend our vacation with them and their 3 year old daughter, Jillian. They have become such great friends!

Dinner one night at Stinky's Fish Camp in Santa Rosa Beach

The Red Bar

We drove over to Destin one day and Joy and I took Jillian to Build-a-Bear while the guys walked around Bass Pro Shop. She built a kitty who she named "Maps!"

We left the beach and went to Wesley's parents house in Lincoln. We were glad that we were able to spend time with them and celebrate Mother's Day a week early with Wesley's mom. We were also so exicted to see Wesley's grandmother who was there because her power was out due to the effects of the tornados in Guntersville. Thankfully everyone was safe.

Saturday night we went to a wedding shower in Lineville, AL for our good friends Adam and Adrianne. It was so good seeing friends that we don't see as often since we have moved. It was also amazing to realize how fast time flies and to see the little faces of our friends' babies! Unfortunately most of my pics from the party (including the group pics) were blurry, but here are just a few.

We ended our week with a fun afternoon. I've always known that my parents LOVED Wesley, but I didn't know just how much until yesterday. He has mentioned wanting 4-Wheelers to ride on the land that my dad bought several months ago, but we didn't really expect my dad to go ahead and get them...especially since I "mentioned" my whole childhood how much I wanted a golf-cart or go-cart....well, well, I think we know who the favorite is! Wesley got his wish :) (I have to admit that I LOVE it when anyone spoils my husband though)

We ended the afternoon with a yummy dinner at my parents' house...The Pioneer Woman's Killer Club Sandwich:

YUMMY! I guess the diet will have to wait until tomorrow!

2 down....

2 semesters down, 5 to go!!! The second semester of Wesley's CRNA school is in the books! Another 4.0, but it came with a price! Wesley spent so much time this semester studying when he wasn't in the OR. But I will have to admit, if I ever have surgery, I hope that whoever puts me to sleep takes his job as seriously as Wesley does. I am so proud of him! God is definitely blessing all of his hard work! He is so faithful!

Wesley has to work this weekend, but then we are going to be in relaxation mode for a whole week!!! I CANNOT WAIT!

Happy Good Friday! I am so thankful for Jesus' ultimate sacrifice. Hope that you all have a wonderful Easter weekend celebrating the resurrection of our Savior!

Greek Sing!

Last night I went with my mom and older sister to see my younger sister, Sarah, in Greek Sing, which is a sorority dance competition in Auburn. They have been practicing for months now, and it paid off! Chi O got 2nd place and they did great!

I was so proud that Sarah was MY sister! She was awesome! She didn't miss a beat and smiled the entire time. It is crazy to think that we came from the same 2 parents considering my body just cannot move like hers can!

Erin drove from Montgomery to meet us! It was so good seeing her. I had not seen her since her wedding in November.

Next week Wesley has his finals, and then he gets a WHOLE WEEK off!! We feel so blessed that our good friend, Janet Martin, is letting us stay at her beach house in Seacrest for the week! Wesley hasn't seen the beach once this semester, so we are both so excited about our BIG vacation...even if we are only driving 30 miles from home!

In other good (or should I say GREAT) news, we booked a "2nd honeymoon" for Wesley's week off in August! I have a feeling that after another crazy semester we will really need it! We will be spending 5 nights and 6 days here!

But for now, we are just praying for Wesley to get through finals week!!

Spring Break....PC style!

Living in Panama City during Spring Break has it's pros and cons. The cons are the crazy traffic, the loud drunk people, and the crowded beach! But I must say that one of the pros is living in a place that friends want to come and visit! Last weekend Bethany and William spent a long weekend in Seacrest, and so we met them for dinner at Shades last Friday night. It was so much fun seeing them and catching up!

This weekend Maggie, Ann Banks, and Mary Neal came down for 2 nights. Ann Banks is 3 months old now and is the cutest baby! She has more hair than any other baby that I have ever seen, and I have seen A LOT of babies! Maggie can even put her hair in a ponytail!

I LOVED just sitting on the couch at Mary Neal's beach house last night just chatting. Felt like high school all over again...except for the fact that our conversations revolved around work, babies, relationships, and marriage!

Mags and Mary Neal, sorry that I didn't get any pictures of the 2 of you! I guess Ann Banks was so cute that I just didn't seem to feel the need to take a picture of anyone else! :)

Our First Anniversary

Today is our first anniversary! It is hard to believe that our wedding day was one year ago, but at the same time I can hardly remember what it was like not being married to Wesley. This has definitely been the best year of my life! It has been a pretty busy year, but the Lord has truly blessed us.

We celebrated our anniversary last night. We went to dinner at a restaurant called Paradis (pronounced Para-DEE) in Rosemary Beach. It was delicious! Then we came home and put on comfy clothes and watched our wedding video and ate a slice of our wedding cake.

The cake was actually not bad! It wasn't quite as fresh as it was a year ago, but it tasted pretty good considering that it had been in my older sister's freezer for 365 days! We shared a slice, and then Wesley asked if we should freeze it again and eat another slice next year! haha! No, thanks!

Meet Charlie!

My older sister Amy picked up her new puppy in Panama City today! He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and will be 11 weeks old tomorrow.

Since my mom's birthday was earlier this week, Mom and Dad drove with Amy and met me and Wesley for lunch at Uncle Ernie's to celebrate her birthday.

Then we came back to our house for dessert...because birthdays are not as much fun if you don't have CUPCAKES!

February in PC

The weather this weekend was absolutely PERFECT! 73-78 degrees and not a cloud in the sky! Joy and I took Jillian to the beach all day on Saturday while the boys studied. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. It makes me excited that Spring is right around the corner.

This past weekend was a lot of fun! On Friday, Bethany stopped by on her way to the airport in PC. We got to visit for several hours and then she helped me make enchiladas for the first "Anesthesia Wives Club" dinner party! (Sorry that I look so terrible in this pic...had not taken a shower and had only had 4 hours of sleep since I worked the night before)

The party was a lot of fun! It was Mexican themed and everyone brought a dish. It was good hearing from some of the wives in the upper class about how things get so much better in a few months when the students are through with the classroom aspect of school and just have clinicals. And of course there was a lot of gossip...but I kinda liked hearing the scoop! :)

Then on Sunday after chuch, I went to a baby shower for a co-worker at Unlce Ernie's. We sat outside with a great view of the Bay. Then I got to spend the evening with Wesley at home!

It was a busy weekend, but a lot of fun! I am so thankful for how the Lord has blessed us here with such sweet friends!
