Orlando!

Wesley and I went to Orlando this past weekend for the wedding of our good friends, Bethany and William Gannon! We rode down with Richard and Alisa Jones on Thursday night so that we could be there for the whole weekend. The bridesmaid luncheon was on Friday afternoon at the wedding director's home. We were served chicken salad, strawberry-pretzel salad, and a croissant. YUM!

Friday evening was the rehearsal at the church and the rehearsal dinner followed at the Citrus Club. The food was delicious and the view from the Citrus Club was gorgeous!

The wedding on Saturday was so sweet and very emotional. Bethany's dad is a Baptist preacher and did the ceremony himself. It was great standing up on stage watching the two say their vows. I pray that they have a lifetime of happiness! Here are some pics from the reception!

To my mom on Mother's Day....

I truly belive that you are the best mom in the enitre world! You do so much for your family, and never ask for anything in return! Being a mother of 3 girls is a full time job, and you do it so well.

When I was young you went on EVERY school field trip with me because I was so scared that someone would throw up on the bus and I would panic! As a child, after bathtime, I remember you would sit Indian style on the floor, I would cover your lap with a towel, and I would lay my head in your lap while you blew my hair dry. You woke me up nearly every morning for high school by scratching my back (not yelling and slamming doors like most moms), and then blew my hair dry while I put my make-up on. When I came home from college you always cooked homecooked meals and had chicken salad (my favorite) waiting on me when I got there. You spent nearly 8 hours a day for 8 months planning my wedding which made being a bride so much fun and not stressful at all, and then as wedding gifts came to the house, you wrote a detailed description of each gift, the name and address of the gift-giver, and sometimes even a sentence that I should include in the thank you note!

In the 24 years of my life, not a day has gone by the I didn't know that you love me! You have also been a perfect example to me of what a Christian wife looks like.

Not too mention....you have birthed 3 children (who are all grown) and you still look like this!!!!!!!!!! Are you even REAL????

Bethany's Bachelorette Party

This weekend we had Bethany's Bachelorette party at Lindsay's lake house on Lake Mitchell. It was my first night away from Wesley since we have been married, but it was so nice to have 24 hours of girl time! I got to the lake around 9:30 am on Saturday and met up with everyone. Unfortunately the sky was a little overcast and gray, but it didn't stop us from having a great time!

We spent a lot of time sitting on the dock and talking, had Bethany's lingere shower and played games, ate a TON of great food, rode jet-skis, and watched "It's Complicated".

It was such a fun getaway! In just two short weeks, we will be in Orlando for the wedding. Looking forward to being with all of these girls again!

Springtime!

I am loving this warm weather! I love that all of the flowers are in bloom.

Wesley and I had been noticing a robin flying back and forth from one of our hanging plants, so I asked Wesley to take it down so that I could look in it, and this is what we saw....

I can't wait until the eggs hatch and there are 4 baby birds!

We had our first dinner guests the other night! Anthony Cain (one of Wesley's groomsmen) and his fiance Kelly came over and we grilled out burgers! It was a burger recipe that Kelly had seen that day on Rachel Ray, and they were delicious!

We loved entertaining in our home! Our house is looking much more inviting now that Amy and Mom came to spruce things up!

On Saturday, we drove to Dothan for a wedding and then went to an engagement party for my two good friends, Bethany and William.

William and I are best friends from high school, and Bethany and I are best friends from college! We are looking so forward to their wedding in Orlando on May 15th!

Easter Weekend

We had such a wonderful weekend in Dothan! It seems like this was my first holiday to be off work since I started working at the hospital. Friday when we got to Dothan, Mom, Amy, and I went shopping while Dad and Wesley went fishing. Friday night my dad grilled out steaks and we ate dinner by the pool. I am loving this warm weather! On Sunday we woke up, went to church, and came home to eat the delicious meal that my mom (and dad) prepared. My mom's dining room table was decorated perfectly for the occasion...as always...

Sarah made a wonderful carrot cake to celebrate our Risen Savior and decorated it by shaping the pecans to look like an Easter egg! She is so talented!

And GOOD NEWS....The Easter Bunny still comes even when you are married! I made Wesley an Easter basket filled with goodies, boxers (since he lost 4 pair on the honeymoon), and a new shirt.

He gave me the best present though...he mowed the grass, pulled weeds, planted flowers by our mailbox, swept off our roof, planted flowers in my windowbox outside of the kitchen window, and hung potted plants on the front of our house! I am loving our home more and more everyday!

We got goodies from my family too! I got PJ pants and lotion, and Wesley got a new tie which he wore on Easter Sunday at church.

And of coarse....LOTS OF CANDY!

I am still not sure how it happened...maybe I was under the influence of deviled eggs and carrot cake, but I agreed to letting my sister's dog, Doc, come back to Auburn and live with us! We now have 2 black labs that play in the backyard all day and sleep inside!!!!!! I know that it was hard for Sarah to put Molly (our old black lab) down on Easter Sunday, so she can now come and visit Doc any time that she wants, and I KNOW that Doc is loving all of the attention!

Married Life!

Sorry that it has been so long since my last post! Life has been busy but WONDERFUL! The wedding weekend was fantastic, but went by SO FAST. It began on Friday at 11am with the Bridesmaid Luncheon at my mom's best friend's house in Dothan. The food was delicious and the table was decorated beautifully! I will post pics when I get them from my parents. Friday evening was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal went well and the dinner was great! Wesley's parents hosted the dinner at the Dothan Country Club. It was such special time to be surrounded by our families and closest friends.

The wedding day came and went so quickly! My bridesmaids and close friends were invited to a Pajama Brunch at the home of Michele Armstrong the morning of the wedding. It was a come-as-you-are breakfast so I was expecting it to be very casual. I couldn't believe how nice that the brunch was. We ate off of her fine china! I left the brunch and headed to get my hair and make-up done, and then went to the church to start pictures!
It was almost weird how calm that I was the day of the wedding. I could definitely feel all of the prayers! The wedding was perfect. It was a very Holy and very personable ceremony. Wesley originally suggested that the wedding be as quick as possible, but we both agreed that we wouldn't change a single thing about the ceremony.

The reception was perfect as well! We were overwhelmed by the number of people that showed up to support us on such a special day. I could relive this day every day if it were possible! It was a fairy tale and definitely was the happiest day of my life!

Then....off to the HONEYMOON! PARADISE! We did not want to come home, but it has been so much fun getting settled into our home! We still feel like we are on vacation! I never imagined that marriage would be this wonderful!

Almost here!!!

Only 16 more days and we will be headed here: I cannot believe that these 8 months of engagement have flown by so fast! Maybe it is because we have been so busy!

My wonderful co-workers at EAMC gave me a Bridal Shower at the beginning of the month. It was such a great shower and I feel so blessed to have such loving and supportive co-workers!
I couldn't belive how much snow that we got in Auburn last week! It was so pretty outside! But the snow didn't stop Wesley from using his new grilling meat thermometer!
This past Saturday, we had our last wedding shower/party. We had a "casual" dinner party hosted at the Shaw's house in Dothan. It was a sit-down dinner and the hostesses used all of their fine china and silver! It was so much fun getting to visit with friends one more time before the wedding weekend. I will post pictures of the party soon!
